This month making a house a home should be high priority on your “to-do”
list. It’s quite easy turn your home into the perfect cozy winter retreat. There
is no need to renovate or break out cans of paint, a few new accessories will
do.
Whatever your current décor try these few simple tricks to transforming your
home and giving a warmer atmosphere:
• Warm Colors! – Pick a warm, natural hue to compliment your current
room palette. Find this color or similar shades and purchase some throw
pillows, a blanket and some oversized floor pillows. Your floor pillows can be
extra seating for the unexpected guests, the throw pillows liven up your
current furniture and the blanket you can throw over a chair for just the
added winter touch.
• Change UP… - If you have a table cloth over the dining table, pack it
away and get yourself a winter season table cloth. Not the ones with crazy
patterns all over it! A table cloth that fits your winter home’s color theme –
solids work best – and then try complimentary colors in the linen napkins,
floral arrangements and centerpieces to keep things festive, but not
overwhelming.
Just a few adjustments and VOILA, you have a winter retreat.
